Chapter 9
Cameron stared blankly at the divorce papers on the vanity.
Why was his signature on the last page? When had he ever signed something like this?
Then, he suddenly remembered that Simone had handed him a document a few days ago.
After they got married, she had taken charge of all their finances. It wasn't unusual for her to ask him to sign off on some investment forms or account paperwork. She'd done it plenty of times before, and he never thought twice about it.
Simone had a finance degree and a sharp investment mind. The stocks and portfolios she managed always performed well.
Cameron had complete confidence in her. He never bothered to read the fine print. Whenever she brought something to sign, he just signed it.
He had thought that document was just another investment proposal. He had no idea it was a divorce agreement.
But that couldn't be legally binding, right?
Cameron frowned. "I didn't sign it knowingly," he reasoned. "She tricked me. That's got to make it invalid."
