Katelyn’s POV
Rachel texted me, saying she had something urgent to tell me. As I walked towards the café where we were supposed to meet, my mind drifted back to Ethan. Specifically, to that kiss.
The way he had grabbed me, like he couldn’t control himself. I shook my head, trying to shake off the memory. I didn’t need to think about that.
But before I could fully clear my head, a sudden noise snapped me out of my thoughts.
CRASH!
A flower pot fell from the balcony above, crashing right at the spot where I had been standing just seconds ago. My heart raced. I had dodged it just in time. I stared at the shattered pieces, my pulse pounding in my ears.
Was that an accident? Or was someone trying to hurt me?
With a quick glance upward, I saw no one. But a chill ran down my spine. I had a bad feeling.
I hurried to the café, my eyes darting around, feeling like shadows were following me. When I finally arrived, Rachel was already there, her face serious.
