Makenna’s POV.
Paris. I still couldn't quite believe it. Wolfe had whisked me away to the city of lights, the city of romance. For the past two days, I'd been living a fairy tale. I stood in front of the mirror in a high-end clothing store, admiring the sixth gown I'd tried on. The silky blue fabric hugged my curves perfectly, and I twirled, letting the dress flare out around me.
Wolfe’s reflection in the mirror caught my eye. He was on the phone, his brows furrowed, worry etched into his features. He hadn’t looked this concerned since we landed. My curiosity got the better of me.
I walked over, the soft rustle of the gown accompanying my steps. “What’s the problem?” I asked, my voice light but insistent.
He shook his head, offering a tight smile. “Nothing really. Just some last-minute details.”
I raised an eyebrow, crossing my arms. “Wolfe Wilder, you know I can tell when you’re lying. Spill.”
