Aria’s POV
As we walked through the hallway, a few pack members walked past us, bowing their heads in greeting.
“Alpha, Luna,” one of them greeted with a polite nod.
I smiled warmly. “Good evening.”
Knox said nothing.
I elbowed him after the pack member left. “Knox,” I mumbled under my breath. “You should have said something.”
He grunted.
I sighed. “At least nod?”
He scowled at me, before turning to the next person we passed. His nod was so stiff that it looked painful.
I rolled my eyes. “And maybe try smiling?”
Knox scoffed. “I don’t feel like smiling at people, Aria.”
“Well, you have to.”
Another pack member greeted us. I smiled as I replied in greeting. Knox lifted his lips slightly. It looked less like a smile and more like a grimace.
I blinked. “What was that?”
“A smile,” he said flatly.
I stared at him, then shook my head. “No, that was terrifying.”
He shrugged. “That’s the best I can do.”
I groaned in exasperation. “You’re hopeless.”
