Chapter 168
Aria’s POV (after she touched the stake)
Everything went black.
I didn’t feel the marble platform under me anymore. I couldn't feel my body at all.
I was floating, or maybe falling. It was hard to tell. It was pitch-dark, so I couldn't see anything.
“Jade?” I called. I needed to first make sure that she was with me.
‘I’m right here. Now, let's—”
A faint whisper reached my ears.
I turned sharply. “Did you hear that?” I asked.
‘Yes, I did. Follow it,’ She replied.
“But how, everywhere is dark. I can't see anything.”
Immediately I finished speaking, a faint light shone ahead. It was weak, but it was enough to guide me forward through the long dark hallway that seemed endless.
“I guess I don't have a choice,” I mumbled to myself.
My feet didn’t touch anything, but I moved toward the light, almost like I was gliding.
“You’re not supposed to be here.” A voice rasped sharply.
I paused.
It was Lilith.
She was sitting on the floor, right in the middle of the endless hallway that seemed to go on
