Aria's POV
“I’m sorry,” Melissa blurted. Her voice cracked. “I’m so sorry for what my father did. I know I didn’t like you. I know I was cruel. But I swear, I would never have supported what he did. Please believe me.”
I froze, staring at her in shock.
Her tears weren’t fake. Her voice shook with real regret.
Jade snorted. ‘The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I am an exception. I wouldn't trust her if I were you.’
I resisted the urge to roll my eyes at Jade's words.
