The moment Ava leapt from the cliff, the movement jolted her clothing. A booklet slipped from her pocket and drifted lightly onto the jagged rocks below.
"No—!" Rowan lunged to the cliff's edge, his eyes bloodshot, but all he saw were waves crashing violently against the rocks, each impact echoing in a hollow, thunderous roar.
He sprinted along the cliffside like a madman, shouting into the wind. "Ava! Come back!"
