"Since Sullivan seems intent on gaining my favor, we should play along," she continued, looking at Rickard with an inscrutable expression.
Rickard met her gaze with a neutral demeanor. Hesper wasn't certain if he concurred with her plan, so she elaborated, "I'll bring Riley into the picture and tell Sullivan it's for a diagnosis. He wouldn't refuse me, would he?"
If he declined, it would suggest pretense; if he accepted, they would have the opportunity to ascertain if he genuinely had autism. The plan seemed risk-free.
