Robert leaned in, trying to kiss Louise. She dodged back fast, and when he reached for her again, she raised her knee sharply and nailed him right in the weak spot. "Ugh-" The man who had been holding her tightly just a moment ago winced, groaned low, and instantly let go. Taking the chance, Louise slipped past him, rushed back into the room, grabbed her car keys and wallet, and bolted out without looking back. Once she got into her car and sat staring at the lampposts lining the street, her breathing slowly started to calm down. Louise sat there, fuming. "Should've minded my own damn business," she muttered. "Nearly got assaulted." Back at the Ellis house, Lucas was watching TV in the living room. He glanced toward the door when it opened. Louise didn't even glance at him. She went straight up to the third floor, pushed open the bedroom door, and headed right for the bathroom. "Knock knock."
