Chapter 29
On the wooden bench, a bit of sandwich still clung to the corner of Louise's lips. Spotting the person approaching, she jumped to her feet. "What are you doing here?"
Right as the words left her mouth, a memory from the UL conference room earlier that day flashed across her mind. "Wait, I think I saw you in the meeting room next to mine this morning."
Dominic glanced down at the half-eaten sandwich in her hand. "This is your lunch?" His tone was neutral. "I had a meeting there this morning."
Louise, still holding the sandwich, caught the faint chill in his expression and instinctively shrunk her shoulders. "Almost ran late, so I grabbed something quick."
Dominic wasn't a fan of her eating this kind of junk. Standing tall beside her, he waved her over. "Come on. There's a good restaurant nearby. I'll take you."
"No thanks. I have another meeting coming up. Maybe some other time," she said, waving him off.
She checked her watch, then politely gestured at the time. "I've got to head back
