The lawyer had the divorce agreement drafted, but I didn't see Keegan for an entire week. He was always with Anna, coming and going together, looking like the kind of couple people couldn't help admiring.
It wasn't until a party that Anna finally stopped me at the door. She waited until no one was around, then tossed her necklace into the pool right in front of me. She smiled, cruel and satisfied.
"Who do you think Keegan's going to believe—you or me?"
Just before Keegan rushed over, she fell to the ground, making herself look small and pitiful. It was as if she might shatter on impact.
