Zayn turned and stepped forward stiffly to grab Wynn's hand. It was just like what he used to do as a child when he felt vulnerable and in need of comfort. "Mom, please, help Lolo live!" Wynn glared at Zayn through teary eyes. She raised her hand as if she wanted to strike him again. She knew her son was in agony, but she felt no sympathy for him. Her heart ached only for Willow as she lay in the hospital bed. If only he had known better from the start! Where was this devotion earlier? Even if she used all her skills to treat Willow, it would only buy her a few more days at most. What was the point of his devotion now in her final days of life?
