I couldn’t believe Damien would jump unhesitantly to block the attack for me. And when I saw the bloody wounds on his back, I couldn't contain my gasp.
It shattered my heart. Some of the glass shards were still embedded in his flesh, and they pierced him because of me.
I blamed myself for everything that had happened. I knew I came to the bar because of Ali, because my best friend needed me, but I should have brought some guards with me. I was a Luna of the Infernal Shadows Pack, after all.
The reasons I didn’t do it were because I was panicking when I heard Ali’s heartbreaking sobs, and also deep within my heart, I wanted to teach Damien a lesson. I wanted him to know if he preferred to spend time with Diana, if he trusted her more than me, then I was free to do anything I wanted to.
