CHAPTER 311 FATE OF THE PACK
Kael was pacing back and forth by the elevator while Esme stood beside the doors, her arms wrapped around her stomach as she watched him.
The space was empty, and neither of them spoke as they waited to hear from the Alpha and to ask about Claire.
It worried him to know that something had happened to Claire. Even though they weren’t that close, and he didn’t know her on a personal level, she meant a lot to his friend Alpha Hudson and to the pack as well.
He put himself in the Alpha’s shoes. What if Esme were bleeding? Kael knew for certain that he would lose his mind.
The elevator doors slid open, and Elora stepped out, her face grey and her eyes wide with worry. Kael stopped pacing immediately, his gaze locked on her.
Out of the corner of his eyes, he saw Esme turn as well, her body stiffening with anticipation of what had happened and the news about Claire.
“Elora,” Kael started, his voice low but urgent. “What’s going on?”
