"So no, Sebastian, though I appreciate you worrying about me—about our son—I don't need you to protect me like some sheepdog!"
Ayda's words kept rattling in my mind, ricocheting off age-old insecurities and doubts as I stalked the deserted halls to my upstairs suite. Where I would be alone for the night because we'd both agreed upon space. Or I was avoiding another potential fallout. Words would be said, and my anger would get the best of me and create issues we didn't need.
Goddess' backside, weren't true mates supposed to get along swimmingly? Practically read each other's minds? Were we not meant to be? Is that why fate had tangled so many obstacles in our path?
But no, we still felt the pull, felt that inexplicable bond between us.
