Tonight, William Turner had a bit too much to drink, though he wasn’t completely out of it.
He’d come to the bar expecting to meet up with Xander Moon, but instead bumped into Jenny Winslow. Even though it was dark inside, she wore all black and had on her signature oversized shades—like she was going undercover or something.
A hint of surprise lit up her voice. “William.”
He glanced at her, tone cool. “What are you doing here?”
Jenny removed her sunglasses and took the seat across from him. Her almond-shaped eyes were full of flirtation. “Maybe it’s fate?”

William thought of Chloe Grace. That so-called fate with her had turned into a complete mess.
