William had been with her twice that night.
When Olivia finally drifted off to sleep, exhausted, William took a shower, then sat alone on the balcony, puffing on a cigarette. The breeze pulled the pale smoke into the sky, vanishing into the night.
Dressed in a white bathrobe, he reclined on a lounger. His body might’ve been satisfied, but his mind felt empty—like something inside was off.
Looking up at the thin crescent moon, he wasn’t thinking about Olivia or how amazing she looked earlier. Instead, all he could think of were Autumn and Gabriel. Nights like this made him miss his kids like crazy.
Suddenly, he felt a pair of slender arms snake around him from behind.
Olivia had woken up to find the bed empty and tiptoed barefoot to the balcony. Her silk nightgown clung to her figure, a soft pink that seemed to glow under the moonlight. She gently ran her fingers through his damp hair, her voice husky from earlier, “What are you thinking about?”
