ELORA'S POV
It's been a week since Lucian came down to my workplace to tell me Nora wasn’t feeling well. And ever since, I’ve been visiting non-stop. Thankfully, the little girl’s up and running again. Which means I have no reason to set foot in Lucian’s mansion for now—and that alone feels like peace.
It's Saturday afternoon, and I'm sprawled lazily on Selene’s couch, sipping juice like a child avoiding adulthood.
Selene suddenly turned to me, crossing her legs as she said, “Don't you find it weird, Elora?” Because I can't stop thinking about it since you told me.”
I raised a brow. About what?”
“The attacks,” she said, leaning forward.
“First, a masked guy points a gun at you in your car. Then Lucian almost gets stabbed by another masked guy. Don't you think something’s wrong? Don't you think it's connected?”
I sat up slowly, setting the juice down. “I never really thought about it like that,” I admitted. “But now that you’re saying it, it actually makes sense.”
