The moment we got home, I couldn’t sit still.
Elora’s words kept echoing in my head, sharp and sounded unforgiving, like daggers thrown without hesitation. I kept replaying it in my head—the coldness in her eyes, the venom in her voice. She wasn't the same girl I raised. The girl I raised had discipline, control, and she's well-mannered. But the girl I saw today? That was someone else entirely.
“She's changed,” I muttered under my breath.
Natalie sat beside me, she didn't even let me
finish my thoughts. “How dare she speak to us like that?” She snapped, her voice rising. “That's the same girl we raised. And today, she acted like a wild animal in public.”
“She didn't even acknowledge you, Aunty,” Alicia stepped in. “She completely ignored you. And that mouth of hers, God, Dad, the things she said about Maya…in front of everyone.”
