Chapter 69
LUCIAN’S POV
It has been hours since we had lunch, and I hadn't set my eyes on Elora. Not even once.
I told myself It was because Maya and my friends were around—that Elora was avoiding them, keeping to herself like she always did when they're around. But deep down I knew there was more to it.
She was hiding from me. And I'm sure of that.
But the longer I didn't see her, the worse it ate at me. My mind kept circling back to the same damn questions: Did she eat properly? Was she resting enough in between those work? Did she think of me in the silence of our room the way I thought of her? Did she miss my hands, my mouth, my touch…or was I the only one losing my mind here?
Being in the same house with her while Maya is around was unbearable. I couldn’t touch Elora the way I wanted, I couldn't hold her when the ache in my chest screamed for it. But I couldn't turn it off either. She was all I thought about.
So I did what I knew would work—I planned something to pull her out of the room.
