Chapter 74
Georgina got home late after the disastrous dinner with her father at the Revolving restaurant. She sank onto the couch, exhausted, her mind racing with her father's threats about Klaus.
It was past eight, and Klaus hadn't returned. She called him twice. No answer.
With every passing minute, her anxiety grew. Her father had made it clear that he would send people to harm Klaus. And her father always kept his threats.
By eleven, she was pacing the living room nervously. Then the front door opened.
She froze, then recognized his footsteps. She ran to him as he stepped inside with grocery bags.
Before he could speak, she threw herself into his arms. "You're late," she whispered, voice shaking. "I thought something happened."
Klaus dropped everything to hold her, one hand on her back, the other cradling her head.
"Wow, someone missed me!" His voice was warm with affection.
"Where were you?" she gasped, her hands immediately moving across his body, checking for injuries.
