Chapter 279
Edward Hawthorne walked out of the meeting room and took the elevator straight down to the underground parking lot. Sliding into his car, he pulled out a cigarette and lit it, the smoke swirling around him.
Barely a minute had passed when his phone rang. He sighed and answered, only to be met with booming music and James Grant’s teasing voice. “Heard you’re planning to take down the Moores?”
“You’re quick,” Edward said, a faint smirk tugging at his lips.
“Nightshade Bar. Get over here!” Charles Bennett’s voice cut in, sharp and impatient. And with that, the call ended abruptly.
Edward’s gaze hardened slightly. He flicked his cigarette butt into the ashtray and drove away from the GrandVerse building without hesitation.
