Why does that intro sound so familiar?
Before Alice could focus and confirm what she was hearing, Edward had already opened his eyes and leaned forward to stop the music.
She blinked, set down the coffee in front of him, and cautiously asked,
"What song were you just listening to, Mr. Hawthorne?"
If she didn’t mistake it, that bit of melody was from a song she'd released three months ago, called “Memories.”
Could he actually be a fan of hers?
Edward rubbed his temples and replied vaguely, "Just something I clicked on."
So… not a fan, then. Probably really was just a random listen.
Alice didn’t push it further and instead passed along Charles Bennett’s message.
Edward glanced up at her. "Thanks for handling that, Alice."
Alice nodded, calm as ever. "No problem. It’s my job."
