The next day was a Saturday, so the kids didn't go to school. Frank and I hadn't spoken since I declined his offer of being a surrogate mother for Charles.

I hissed silently on seeing him.
“I found a new dish online, and I'd like to know what it tastes like,” he said, settling on the couch opposite me. I smirked inwardly.
