The drive takes around an hour to get to Kat’s pack. I message Kat to tell Mathias to be ready, and she assures me he will see her today. As we pull into the bustling town, I look down at Sage, where she had managed to lie down with her head in my lap. Brushing her hair from her face, Malik pulls up, and I gently shake her shoulder until she sits up. She yawns, looking out the front window.
