Valerie, cool as a cucumber, said, "I'm already heading toward the suburbs."
Lucius wanted to give her a piece of his mind for being so reckless. Did she really think knowing a few moves made her invincible? Why was she so infuriatingly cocky?
He hung up and ordered Silas to gather some men and find Valerie immediately.
Silas didn't waste a second after hearing that Valerie was being hunted. He rallied the bodyguards, piled into over a dozen cars, and sped toward the location she'd given.
When everyone, including Lucius, arrived, what they saw floored them. The whole way there, Lucius had pictured Valerie being cornered by a gang of thugs, trembling and out of options. He'd even braced for the worst.
Instead, what he saw was several black sedans scattered haphazardly on a deserted suburban road. A dozen men were piled up like discarded toys on the roadside, all out cold. Valerie sat on the curb, idly spinning a pen.
