Seraphina's POV
As we left the hotel, we also left behind all the disgusting drama there. I took a deep breath; the cool night air filled my lungs. Finally, I felt free.
Callista, my best friend, walked beside me with slow steps and her face downcast with a gloomy expression. Maybe she felt guilty, especially when I caught a tear in the corner of her eye. However, I found it amusing to see that; she looked like a little child who had accidentally done something wrong and felt guilty.
“Seraphina, I'm so sorry,” she said in a soft voice almost lost in the night wind. "I dragged you into this mess. I just wanted to help you relax and have fun. But instead..." Her voice trailed off, and she shook her head in frustration.
I stopped walking and turned to her with a warm smile. Despite the unexpected drama of the night, something inside me felt grateful. Maybe it was time for the truth to come out.
