Abby
The tension between Karl and me still hangs thick in the air from our confrontation earlier, but the memories of the strange car that I saw take precedence right now.
If this has anything to do with the Alpha party or that couple that I saw at the masquerade, then our safety could potentially be at risk. And right now, it’s not as if I can tell Officer Martinez; she’s too far away to be able to help much, and it hasn’t been going on for long enough to warrant calling the police.
“Karl, I think we’re being watched.”
Both of Karl’s eyebrows raise in unison at my words. “Watched?” he says, sounding a bit incredulous, although his speech is still a little slurred from the alcohol. “What do you mean, watched? Like right now? What makes you say that?”
“No, not right now. But there’s been this car, Karl,” I start, glancing at his bandaged hand. “It's been parked outside, watching my window. It happened last night and tonight again. The moment I look out, it speeds off.”
