Chapter 67: In a happy mood
Owen's POV
She avoided my gaze again. She's been avoiding it since I asked her that question. I noticed how she tried to divert my attention the first time but I ignored it. I would do whatever she wanted if it made her comfortable.
"I work to take my mind off things. I feel like if I keep everything pent-up and remain indoors, I might lose my mind," she explained, fiddling with her fingers. I wondered what was bothering her so much that she couldn't say.
"I'm curious to ask what's on your mind, but I won't pry. You can tell me whenever you feel like it," I said taking hold of her mind in mine. She looked at me in surprise. I smiled assuringly at her.
"You might be upset when I say this but I will say it anyway. Your mum must have behaved the way she did because she was worried about you," I said. She pulled her hand away.
"Are you taking my mum's side?" she asked with a frown.
"I'm not taking anyone's side. I'm merely saying the truth. Think about it from her perspective. Speak to her
