#Chapter 64: Shadowed Threats
I bolted upright in bed, heart pounding. Ava's last message was a chilling reminder of how far she was willing to go. She wasn’t just threatening me; she was stalking me. I had to talk to someone.
I got out of bed and went to Monica’s bed. She was fast asleep because, of course she was. It was the middle of the night. I knew that Monica loved her beauty sleep. But I had to wake, her I had to tell her about the texts that Ava had been sending me.
I leaned over and shook Monica’s shoulders with trembling hands. At first she didn’t make up. She just turned and faced the wall. I shook harder. Monica’s eyes opened then as she turned to look at me.
“Ella? What’s wrong?” Monica’s voice was filled with confusion and concern.
“I’m so sorry I had to wake you up, Monica. But…It’s Ava. She’s been sending me these insane, terrifying messages, and now she’s sent a photo of us from the Dean’s office. She’s watching us, Monica. She’s not going to stop.”
