Daimon remained kneeling on the floor, frozen.
He had hoped foolishly that if Elyana could accept him again, maybe Joxan would too. But reality had struck him harder than expected.

“There’s no need. Finish your work. You’ll be taking me to see my daughter later I’ll call you when I’m done. I can’t wait until evening.”
