193: How Terrible?
Camilla
Over dinner, we talked about everything from work to personal interests: Drake’s easy conversation and genuine interest in how I was feeling helped me relax. I found myself laughing and enjoying the moment, a stark contrast to the frustration I had felt earlier.
By the time we finished our meal, I felt significantly lighter. The evening had been a much-needed distraction, and I was grateful for Drake’s kindness and company. As we left the restaurant, I turned to him with a genuine smile.
“Thanks for tonight, Drake. I really needed this,” I said.
Drake grinned. “Anytime, Camilla. I’m glad we could get you out of your head for a while. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you need another break.”
As we stepped out of the restaurant, I felt a renewed sense of calm. The evening had been a breath of fresh air, and I was grateful to Drake for helping me unwind. We walked to the parking lot, chatting about trivial things and enjoying the moment. I turned to Drake with a genuine smile.
