I pressed my lips together and stepped into the room.
There was only one bed in the hotel. Jordan had already unpacked my suitcase and turned to look at me.
I hesitated. "Jordan, maybe... we should sleep separately tonight."
Back when we weren’t together, we were super close, sure, but not to the point of sharing a bed. Now things have moved forward… still, I’m not ready to cross that line.
Jordan’s gaze darkened a little, but he just smiled and ruffled my hair like it was no big deal.
"Don’t listen to Charles, he talks too much. I figured you'd need some space, so I booked the room next door. If you need anything, just call me."
I stared at him for a moment, then nodded, heart heavy but full of gratitude. Luckily, it’s Jordan—he’s never made me feel trapped.
Jordan walked out with the key card, and the smile on his face faded as soon as he turned away.
