Hearing that, I froze on the spot—stunned, absolutely speechless.
"Uncle Richard, you’ve got it wrong..."
Before I could finish, both Jordan and Ronald handed over plates of neatly sliced apples.
Jordan’s eyes sparkled as he asked cheerfully, "Uncle Richard, what were you and Isabella whispering about just now?"
Richard took the fruit plate from Jordan and didn’t even glance at Ronald, his tone all warm and friendly as he asked,
"The gift I gave you two—did you open it yet?"
Ronald’s expression didn’t change a bit, still calmly holding the fruit plate.
Jordan grinned and pulled out a pendant he wore — a crescent-shaped piece of polished green stone, etched with the graceful image of a male swan, neck arched, wings gently folded.
"I opened mine," he said lightly.
Richard nodded, then turned to me,
"What about yours, Isabella?"
