I let out a sarcastic laugh. “Well, great, let him be pissed. That’s settled then.”
Daniel walked in right after, full of energy as always. He didn’t let me down—chattered away non-stop all afternoon, updating me on all the latest trends.
Our first day working together went pretty well. I clocked out on the dot, while Daniel stayed back late, eager to learn more.
He really is the type—good-looking, sweet, and ambitious, like a loyal golden retriever. Honestly, Grace is lucky, whether it’s Daniel or Ronald.
Too bad I don’t clearly remember how Daniel’s story ends. I just know he split up with Grace about four and a half years after I married Ronald. That stuck with me because... well, a lot went down between Ronald and me around that same time.
Grabbing my bag, I headed out. Just as I stepped outside the office, my phone rang. Seeing the caller ID made my expression sink, but I still picked up.
