Cody Phillips spotted her from the rearview mirror and quickly got out to open the door. With a glance, he signaled James Bennett that his mood wasn’t great.
Maria Lewis nodded, slid into the seat next to him, linked her arm through his, and leaned in, eyes shut, obviously exhausted.
