As a public figure, Amelia rarely lost her composure like this—it was obvious she was seriously pissed off.
Maria didn’t bother responding. She glanced out of the office and asked, “Is it time to clock out yet?”
If there were still people around, no way Amelia would be yelling like this.
“It’s past the end of the day,” Cody replied.
“I’m talking to you!” Amelia snapped and suddenly shoved Maria.
Maria’s face turned cold instantly, her eyes narrowing. “Don’t touch me.”
Amelia, long used to bossing others around, wasn’t about to take this lying down—especially not in front of Cody. Determined to save face, she shoved Maria again, sneering, “So what if I pushed you?”
“Just an employee, and you dare talk back? Don’t forget—I’m James’s fiancée. That makes me your boss,” Amelia crossed her arms, giving Maria a once-over full of contempt.
