Chapter 37
It was all written out in painful detail—how Catherine had tormented Elizabeth in the hospital. And back then, not only was William blind, he had even helped her.
Every time he looked over those files, it felt like someone took a knife to his chest and carved it open. Still, he kept coming back to the pain, chewing on it like a bitter pill he had to swallow to the bone.
“Sir, the foreign meds are here,” the assistant reported. “They'll make the pain ten times worse.”
William just gave a small nod, a flash of cruel satisfaction flickering in his eyes.
“Use them. The agony Elizabeth went through—losing the baby, getting her uterus removed—I'll make Catherine suffer tenfold.”
From the OR came a scream so sharp and raw it chilled the bones—like something cursed was wailing from hell. Everyone else went pale from the sound, but William? He just smiled.
Demons belong in hell. He and Catherine both.
Looking up at the sky, a tear shimmered in William's eye.
Elizabeth, can you see this?
