CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED ONE - All Hope Seems Lost
As they prepared for the dinner, Ella felt a mix of anxiety and determination. She checked her hidden microphone for the tenth time, making sure it was securely fastened and undetectable.
"You ready for this?" Lucas asked, adjusting his tie in the mirror.
Ella nodded, meeting his eyes in the reflection. "As ready as I'll ever be. Let's catch this bastard."
They arrived at the restaurant early, giving them time to do one last check with the surveillance team. Frank was stationed in a van outside, monitoring the audio and video feeds.
"Remember," Frank's voice crackled in their earpieces, "let him make the first move. We need solid evidence of his intentions."
Gregory arrived precisely on time, looking dapper in a tailored suit. As they were seated, Ella couldn't help but marvel at his composure. If he suspected anything was amiss, he showed no sign of it.
