Danielle Everett was just as stunned by the evidence Julian Everett dropped on the table.
Turning her head, she stared at her older brother, Joshua Everett, disbelief all over her face.
Was this really it? They were just going to lose like that?
When did Julian become this sharp? Even Joshua couldn't outplay him?
Only now did Danielle realize how badly they’d underestimated him.
All the smoke and mirrors Julian had put up... they’d clearly fallen for it—hard.

Joshua caught that pleading look from Danielle, though he didn’t show it on his face. A cold, tight expression replaced any hint of doubt as he turned to Julian.
Gritting his teeth, Joshua snapped, “It's not like people haven’t tried to frame me before. What makes you so sure this isn't just another setup?”
Even with everything laid bare in front of him, there was no way he’d give in. Denial was his last card, and he wasn't about to fold.
