Chapter 41 The Scent of Herbs
Giselle had been eyeing those herbs for ages. Without a supplier and with a thin wallet, she could never pull the trigger.
Now that a generous sponsor was suddenly willing to cover the costs, Giselle nodded without hesitation.
Before Elijah could say a word, she slipped into the Maybach, fastened her seatbelt, and flashed him a smile. "All set. Let's go."
A hint of amusement flashed in Elijah's eyes. So this was the bait that worked.

At the hospital, Giselle moved through Pamela's prescriptions, then let out a slow breath.
The attending doctor hadn't realized what was really going on and was treating Pamela as a regular arteriosclerosis case.
If this kept up, it could lead to a cerebral hemorrhage. Neurons would cook. Even if Pamela survived, she would be a shell.
"How is it?" Elijah asked, studying every flicker across her face.
Giselle set the pills down. "Nothing's wrong."
