Chapter 221: Shadows of Doubt
**Thelma Zane's POV**
My suggestion to save Frank had been a success. No one in the group could bear the thought of seeing him die. Yet, the relief was short-lived.
“That’s a clever idea, but it won’t solve everything,” Master Kevin interjected, his tone heavy with skepticism. His sharp gaze swept over us as he stepped closer to the soul projection before him.
Under his guidance, the image of Frank’s soul shifted. It warped and contorted, eventually resembling a mass of wet, torn tea leaves.
“This,” Kevin explained gravely, “is the state of Captain Frank’s soul right now.”
The revelation left us stunned. Kevin’s voice softened, as if sharing something far darker. “What we see here isn’t a whole soul. It’s just a fragment—broken and incomplete.”
Kerner, his face pale with disbelief, questioned him. “What do you mean? Are you saying the Captain’s soul has been severed?”
