“I am an outsider and cannot meddle in the internal affairs of the elves,” I told Kaya, hoping to quell her confusion. “For now, do as I’ve suggested. If you remain uncertain, let’s wait for the Council of Elders’ decision.”
Though still puzzled, Kaya nodded reluctantly and left with her subordinates.
Not long after, the Council of Elders summoned us to the palace. Upon hearing of Leviathan’s potential involvement, they deemed the matter urgent. I shared everything I knew about Leviathan, and the Council understood that the presence of such a formidable archdemon signaled grave danger. What followed was a fierce debate, sparked by the Great Elder’s controversial proposal: allowing Dorothy to use her ability of “insight” on the Elf King.
“As we all know,” the Great Elder began, “Cage is His Majesty’s closest confidant and enjoys his utmost trust. We need someone connected to Dorothy by blood and respected by the elves. Cage is the ideal candidate.”
