"Long time no see, Kylie." I heard Sebastian's magnetic voice beside me. I instinctively shifted to the side to leave more space between us. 

Sebastian casually tapped his fingers against his knee. His perfectly tailored black suit accentuated his perfect figure, and it also made his skin look flawless. The mole near the corner of his eye was barely visible. He pursed his thin lips together, exuding a sense of nobility.  

"Haven't you seen enough?" I asked rudely while glaring at him.

Megan was lying in the arms of an old man with white hair. She began speaking coquettishly. "The baby is yours. You need to step up."

Tears welled up in Megan's eyes. "I don't want money! I love you so much!"

Then, the old man gave her a sleazy kiss and even squeezed her butt.

Lucas' assistant handed him a medical report, which stated that Megan didn't have depression.

Suddenly, Megan let out a scream as she stumbled. Lucas quickly supported her before turning to glare at me furiously. "What do you want now?"

I handed him the papers. "Sign them."

Lucas was about to say something when Megan suddenly clutched her stomach and shrieked, "Lucas, my stomach hurts!"

Instantly, Lucas panicked. Without even looking at the papers, he just signed them before lifting Megan in his arms. "I'll take you to the hospital."

I put the papers away. As I turned to leave, someone roughly pushed me to the ground. I crashed hard and hit my head against the metal on the floor. Blood started trickling down my face. 

Lucas instantly looked back. Out of instinct, he wanted to hurry over and help me up. 

"Lucas! My stomach really hurts! Quickly take me to the hospital!" Megan's voice trembled as she clung to him tightly.

Lucas paused. In the end, he carried Megan out of the house and left. I was left sprawled on the floor as blood clouded my vision. Everyone surrounded me, looking at me mockingly. No one even reached out to help me. 

I gritted my teeth as I pushed myself up from the ground. Then, I realized that the wedding ring on my ring finger was missing. It seemed that the ring had been loose for some time, but I hadn't noticed. 

Without looking at the rest of the party guests, I limped out of the house and managed to hail a cab. "Take me to the hospital."

The driver jumped in fright. "Miss, your head's bleeding!"

I wiped my face and realized that my hand was covered in blood, but I merely laughed. "It's nothing. I'm not going to die."

At the hospital, the doctor frowned while bandaging my wounds. "Mrs. Johnson, you're still pregnant. How could you torment yourself this way?"

Suddenly, a news report interrupted the TV program. "Breaking news! Mrs. Johnson faked her abduction so that she could have an affair! It's suspected that she's pregnant with a bastard child. She even secretly went to the hospital to get an abortion!"

My vision went black. Before I came to my senses, someone kicked open the door with a loud bang. 

Abigail Smith, Lucas' mother, burst into the room and slapped me. "You bitch! You've embarrassed the entire Johnson family!"

I staggered backward. Before I could steady myself, several men in black grabbed me before dragging me back to the family mausoleum at Johnson Residence. 

"Bitch!" Abigail yelled sternly. 

I struggled hard before being pushed to the cold, hard ground. 

Abigail made a call and yelled into the phone, "Lucas, look at what your wife did! Now, we've become the laughingstock of the entire city!"

Over the phone, Lucas was clearly panicked. "Mom, aren't you and Dad on holiday in Veripal? Why did you suddenly…"

"What? Can't we come home?" Abigail snorted. "What a good wife you've married! You're just too soft-hearted. You let a woman walk all over you. She even cheated on you, yet you still can't bear to punish her?"

I looked up at the screen and shrieked, "Lucas! Say something! Clearly, you were the one—"

Lucas, who had been silent, cut in hoarsely, "Kylie, put up with this for now. I'll make it up to you once I'm home."

In the height of summer, the family mausoleum felt like an oven. I lay on the scorching ground as sweat and blood streamed down my forehead.

Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain in my stomach. Something warm trickled down the inside of my thighs.

"My baby… My baby!" I dashed to the gates and banged on them with all my might. "Let me out! Please save my baby!"

I heard Abigail's voice through the door. "I thought you had already gotten rid of that bastard? Did the hospital not do a proper job?"

I dug my fingernails into the doorframe, leaving bloody marks on the wood. "This is Lucas' baby! It's his! It's his!"

The only answer I got was footsteps fading into the distance. Meanwhile, I was left to lay in a puddle of blood for the whole night. 

At the crack of dawn, someone finally opened the door to the family mausoleum. A man in black stared at me nonchalantly. "Mrs. Johnson, I'll take you to the hospital."

My eyes remained open as I lay on the operating table. I could feel the baby's life slipping away. 

My phone buzzed with a message from Lucas. "Kylie, I'm sorry for putting you through all this. I'll explain everything to my mom in the future."

My fingers trembled, and a tear rolled down my cheek. 

On the day I picked up the divorce certificate, I finally dialed a number I hadn't called for five years. Once the call connected, Sebastian Olson chuckled in a low voice. "Are you… finally here to beg me?"

A week later, Megan showed up at the press conference for her new drama, proudly showing off her baby bump. She held onto Lucas' arm as she smiled sweetly into the camera. "Thank you everyone for your well wishes. Once the baby is born, I'm going to Bariwood to further my career…"

Under the blinding lights, I slowly walked into the hall. The chatter instantly quietened down. 

Lucas' expression shifted. "Kylie? What are you doing here?"

I calmly walked toward him and handed him the divorce certificate. He widened his eyes before suddenly grabbing me by the wrist. In a lowered voice, he said, "Kylie, stop making a fuss. Didn't I say that I'd make it up to you properly in the future?"

At that moment, the doors suddenly swung open. A Rolls-Royce had stopped outside the entrance. As soon as a man got out of the car, the entire hall erupted into chatter. 

"It's Benjamin Floyd! He's in charge of Floyd Corporation!"

Megan's eyes lit up. She hurriedly shoved me aside so that she could greet him. "Uncle Benjamin! What brings you here?"

I stood at the same spot and did not move until the man looked at me. He extended his arm to me, and I instinctively tucked my arm through his. 

Lucas dashed over, rebuking in a trembling voice, "Kylie, have you lost your mind? He's Megan's uncle…"

Dad swept a glance across Lucas before sneering, "How could a bastard like you cause my daughter to suffer so much?"
