"However you like," Megan said gently. "If 'Mom' feels like too much right now, you can just call me Aunt Megan."
Stella let out the breath she had been holding and nodded hard.
"Aunt Megan," she called softly, then flung her arms around her before bolting toward the preschool gates.
Megan stayed where she was, watching until Stella reached the classroom and waved at her before going in.
The paparazzi caught the shot the moment Megan pulled down her mask. She had been careful, just not careful enough.
Since the adoption paperwork wasn't finalized yet, Megan could drop Stella off at school, but she couldn't bring her home. But it wouldn't take long. It would be completed in about 30 working days.
Thinking of that, Megan finally spoke. "That child has nothing to do with your family. She won't be registered under our names. So, she has no rights to the Larson inheritance."
