Chapter 2160
"Two old hags bullying a kid, huh? Don't you feel ashamed?"
From within the burst of supernatural light, tails of snowy white fox fur lashed through the air. Elowen appeared amid an overwhelming pressure and stood tall in the center of the radiance.
Behind her, ten massive fox tails whipped through the sky with wild, unrestrained force.
Looking closely, one could see additional tails behind her. They were illusory and white as snow, yet shimmered with layers of mystic light. These were nine tails formed from Shannon's divine soul.
Just moments ago, these tails, one from each of the two, had struck and sent Pyrothan and Goravoth flying.
Though the two beasts had thick hides and quickly got back on their feet after the slaps, they could sense the terrifying presence of the figure ahead. Both reined in some of their prior ferocity.
Now, they were wary, but their faces still wore a savage look.
Amid the dust clouds and blazing supernatural light, Shannon slowly stepped forward to stand side by side with Elowen. Behind them, over a dozen fox tails flared high and looked like an army of thousands at first glance.
This was not the same presence the beasts had sensed earlier. If they hadn't seen only two standing before them, they might have believed all the nine-tailed foxes had arrived.
Elowen narrowed her eyes and stared at the nine identical tails behind Shannon, sensing the familiar soul remnant in their divine souls.
At this moment, there was no longer any doubt about her history with Shannon, a living soul from another timeline.
If not, she would not have sensed and been summoned so strongly to this battlefield.
Shannon was equally surprised by Elowen's sudden appearance. Then, as if something occurred to her, she reached for her chest and drew out a card.
It was the card Elowen had given them before their parting, infused with the supernatural energy of the Ten-Tailed Elythune.
She'd always thought it was a lifesaving charm Elowen left for her and Benjamin, but hadn't expected it to awaken her long-suppressed supernatural energy hidden deep in her divine soul.
Feeling the familiar flow of supernatural and spiritual energies now stirring inside her, Shannon's gaze toward the two mystical beasts sharpened.
Perfect timing. Now, she could finally fight without holding back.
Standing close by, Elowen sensed the change in her presence the moment it happened. That surging battle spirit was oddly similar to her own.
A faint smile touched her lips. Though she wanted to ask and confirm her suspicions, this wasn't the time to chat, especially when facing two ancient mystical beasts.
As Elowen sensed the supernatural energy radiating from Shannon's divine soul, she suddenly remarked, "I was worried about fighting three of them on my own. Now that you're here, I can barely make do."
Blood still trailing from the corner of her lips, Shannon was still focused on sensing the nine-tailed supernatural energy in her divine soul.
Hearing that, she turned her head and looked slightly confused. "Huh?"
Elowen raised a finger, and the scene around them changed. The two of them, along with Goravoth and Pyrothan, were pulled into her domain.
When Shannon got a closer look at this domain, she finally understood what Elowen meant by three. In it, there was another ancient mystical beast waiting—Wraithbane.
Before arriving here, Elowen had been fighting Wraithbane. Shannon figured it must have been her supernatural energy that summoned Elowen here and dragged Wraithbane along when she teleported.
The gathering of three out of four Doomscourges was unusual, and Shannon didn't believe this was a coincidence. It was clear they'd come for her and Elowen on purpose.
But even while facing down three ancient mystical beasts, Shannon felt little fear.
Perhaps with Elowen standing by her side, the resonance between their divine souls burned her with a fierce excitement to start right away.
