Zara thought Elise must have never tasted anything decent in her life. How could someone look that happy over a meat-filled flatbread?
But as she watched Stanley hand Elise another one, jealousy oozed out of her in waves. If not for sheer willpower, her face would've twisted right then and there.
She finally couldn't resist asking, "Mr. Fuller Senior, when did you and El meet? I don't remember the two of you ever being close when I met her."
"Don't waste your time on me. I'm not going to Jorvania," Stanley simply said. With that, he left the kitchen and sat down in front of the cottage, pouring himself a cup of tea.
Elise followed him outside.
Just then, Samuel appeared again with a lunchbox in hand. Zara immediately hurried over and sighed dramatically.
Samuel patted her shoulder. "It's fine. We'll figure something out. Let's eat first."
All Stanley had was a small table, just enough for two.
Samuel set up his own folding table nearby. The meal he had brought was beautifully
