The room was thick with tension, the air heavy with the weight of unspoken accusations and simmering anger. Kael’s smug expression lingered, his eyes locked on me as if daring me to falter. But I wouldn’t give him the satisfaction. I stood tall, my shoulders squared, and my gaze steady as I addressed the room.
“Since it has come to this,” I began, my voice cutting through the silence like a blade, “I think it is time we discuss the rogues.”
Kael’s smirk faltered for a fraction of a second, his eyes narrowing as he processed my words. He had expected me to crumble under the weight of his accusations, to be left disheveled and defenseless. But I wasn’t the same Lilac once he knew.
