“Broderick, we’ve got someone tailing us.”
And it’s not just one car.
Leslie had already noticed something fishy earlier when she went to see Joanna and the others—a suspicious car had been following her.
Now, a sly smirk tugged at the corners of her lips, carrying a touch of cruelty.
“Didn’t you say my knife skills were on point that day, and if I found the person behind it, you’d offer yourself to me? Babe, looks like tonight’s your lucky night again.”
That “babe” rolled off her tongue way too smoothly.
“Sure.”
Leslie popped open her bag and pulled out a roll of cloth.
Unwrapping it slowly, she revealed ten petite knives lined up.
They were even slimmer and shorter than the one Broderick had in his collection—about the length of a finger, slender and sharp, probably best described as throwing knives.
Broderick turned his head slightly, his eyes flickering with something unspoken, but he didn’t comment.
Leslie glanced over her shoulder. “Broderick, make a detour to somewhere quiet.”
