Miles Ackerley gave a big grin, eyes lighting up. “I'm fine, Sienna. Thanks.”
Knowing Sienna cared about him—yeah, that was more than enough.
He struggled to sit up, barely holding it together, then took the water she handed him. It wasn’t until he tried twisting the cap off that he noticed how badly his hands were shaking.
Sienna opened it for him.
He downed the whole bottle in one go.
“How do you feel, Miles?”
“Amazing. Just awesome!”
Sienna's eyes went wide. She reached out to check his forehead. Did he run so much that he fried his brain or something?
But his temperature was totally normal.
Miles just laughed.
“Sienna, seriously. I’m not burning up. I really mean it—I feel great.”

And honestly, he didn’t plan to. As long as he got it, that was enough.
